Exiles finally beat Kings Road at the sixth time of asking with an excellent 55 run win at a sweltering Battersea Park.
Exiles lost the toss and were generously inserted on a hard looking track. However 2 early first ballers saw the Exiles slip to 42 for 3, before Hasan (35) began repairing the innings with the promoted up the order Saeed.
In fact promoting Saeed was a masterstroke as he soon got used to conditions and smashed his way to 79 at quicker than a run a ball, with 6 sixes. Saeed was ably supported by KK who hit 2 sixes of his own on his way to 43 not out in a partnership of 116 for the 5th wicket.
Exiles closed on a competitive looking 201 for 5 off 35 overs. And in response Exiles bowlers produced a pacy and consistent threat to the Kings Road, never allowing much respite for the batters despite the hot conditions.
Despite a battling 32 from opener Sherman, Kings Road were never in the chase and only got to 146 thanks to a somewhat controversial 48 not out from Gordon at number 7. Siyar was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 19.
A fine 55 run win for the Exiles, and its off to Epsom next week to play Riverbank Ramblers.
