WICC elected to bat on a very dry wicket
Andy Wingfield bowled a very wild first over, conceding 12 runs, but redeemed himself with a wicket from the last ball. Andy continued to bowl a mixture of some unplayable and some less good deliveries, taking 5 for 44 to rip through the WICC top order. As usual the WICC tail wagged before Gwyn Thomas (2 for 30) and Robin Airey (1 for 8) dismissed them for 153.
Keith Roberts and Mark Bradshaw started scratchily against the WICC opening attack before they were dismissed. Nick Creak (41no) and Dom Herrington (34) then put the Exiles on top. Robin Airey almost took us home with a cameo of 18 before Creak hit the winning runs for a six-wicket victory, thus ending our best season ever with a winning streak of six matches. Man of the match was Andy Wingfield.
