Matt Cook took 4 for 15 and was well supported by Jeff Hilson and Martin Thomas as CAMRA limped to 117 for 8. Hilson, having watched some Jonty Rhodes coaching lessons, was a revelation in the field, making two run-outs and a catch to make up for one or two performances below earlier in the season. Jeff clearly benefited from fielding in the infield, rather than on the boundary where he has been known to fall asleep.
The Exiles lost Mark Bradshaw early on, but Amil Patel against demonstrated his good cricket brain during a sensible 16. Quentin Davies played some brutal shots in an undefeated 19 and with Man of the match Keith Roberts (53 not out) easily saw us through to an eight-wicket victory.
