Exiles took on Streatham and Marloboro on a sunny summers day at Abbey Rec. The skipper won the toss and elected to bat.

Ansar and Roberts started well on a difficult track with varied bounce. Ansar especially made it look easy racing to 44 with Exiles on 50 odd scoring at around 5 per over.

Roberts (12) was trapped lbw after surviving two very close appeals and Ansar (44) chipped one on his stumps shortly after. Safi and Iqbal continued to play well scoring 20 and 15 respectively before Iqbal succumbed to a caught and bowl.

Safi tried to steady the boat, but unfortunately the rest of the Exiles team couldn't stay in and the innings ended on 125 all out in 33.1 overs.

With Streatham coming in to bat the overall consensus was that we needed wickets to have a chance as the score target wasn't the highest. Farrell started well taking two wickets, but the runs continued to flow for the away team.

Wickets were taken throughout the innings with Ansar once again performing with taking two wickets, but the score was just never going to be enough against a good side like Streatham and Marlboro.

Exiles gave it their best shot and made a good game out of it, but in the end the loss was imminent with Streatham and Marlboro getting there in the 22nd over with 4 wickets to spare.

Next up Merton and better luck then!
