On an overcast day with a bit of wind and the occasional sun coming through Exiles skipper on the day Wingfield for a change won a toss and elected to bat on quite a dry track.

This looked to be a decent decision as the openers got stuck in and looked relatively comfortable before a change of bowling saw JPJ fall victim to what would become the start of a great onslaught of slow bowling. The pace or lack of it didn't seem to bother Shahid who raced to 37 of 23 balls and Bilal who quickly got the Exiles to 90 in 15 overs.

The slow bowling continued to frustrate the batsmen with wickets falling at regular intervals, but the run rate staying on track for a decent score with a cameo from Khan at the end smacking two huge sixes for a short fire 13 off 6.

In the end all the Exiles got a bat and a few runs and ended on a very competitive 189 all out in 34.1 overs. At tea concerns were raised that we might have to be careful as our bowling attack might lack the effective slow bowling of OMT, but everyone felt quietly confident in our performance.

Wingfield and Ahmed opened the bowling and each got awarded a wicket for their efforts. First change bowler Khan came in and bowled a great spell keeping the batsmen who were trying to get off the mark at bay and also getting 2 wickets. After the middle order batsmen started to get a bit comfortable with the medium pacers JPJ was called upon to slow things down a bit and it worked wonders with 3 wickets falling to his spinners.

The Exiles were feeling quite confident that the game was theirs with OMT on the backfoot with 50odd runs to be made from around 4-5 overs. In though stepped Simon Boardley who for reasons unknown got demoted to number 8 and smashed 4 sixes and a couple of fours to bring OMT on the brink of  victory, but Huss' pacey balls to the number 11 Neil wasn't to be kept out for too long and the final wicket down left OMT 13 runs short with 1.5 overs to go.

A very enjoyable match played in good spirits.
