Exiles travelled to the fine surroundings of King's College School, Wimbledon, to play their inaugrual fixture against Unabombers.
Exiles were in the field first and after early strikes from Wingfield and Akhtar, things looked promising, only for a fine 3rd wicket partnership to accelerate matters for the home side.
With Gundry and Moynihan then picking up wickets, a rapid 50 from the oppo number 6 added further momentum to the Unabombers innings and despite a late flurry of wickets from Leuvennink and Plume, Unabombers finished on 187 all out with just the one over unused.
Exiles batting got off to a sluggish start with their batters no doubt weighed down by the pulled pork on offer at tea, but also in the face of some solid, accurate bowling.
In fact the £600 pitch turned out to be somewhat of a disappointment as the bounce got slower and lower and run-scoring seemed to get harder the longer the Exiles batted.
Plume and Gundry worked hard in adding 48 for the 6th wicket, but Exiles were now well behind the rate and it was only some late fireworks from Kruger (26no) which saw the margin of defeat reduced to 57.
A game which might have been for the Exiles if only the batters were in slightly more aggressive mood.
