Following off-field turmoil the previous day, with the completely unexpected sacking of social secretary Mitesh Dhanak, Nick Creak ensured that the Exiles ended the season on a high note with some blistering batting which sent the Superstars bowling to all parts during his excellent 83 not out. Such an easy win seemed well out of the Exiles' reach when they had reached 24 from their first 17 overs. Following the dismissal of Wil Scott for a careful 10, Bradshaw entered to play a cameo of 15 before he was out to an astounding one-handed catch at point. Keith Roberts (44 not out) gradually found his form at the other end and ensured his place at the top of the batting averages, as Creak tore the Superstars apart.
Creak had earlier been the pick of the Exiles' bowling, taking 2 for 35 from 13 overs as Superstars compiled the challenging total of 174 for 7. Jeff Hilson and Chris Bunton also took two wickets and Gwyn Thomas chipped in with one. Creak actually bowled reasonably quickly, even hitting one of the Superstars batsmen during a fine spell.
Nick Creak was undoubtedly Man of the Match. However, the most astute observation of the day was that made by the Superstars scorer, who, after meeting Jeff Hilson for only 15 minutes described him as "silly", a description which received approval from the rest of the Exiles.
