The Exiles were without a number of regular players for this fixture against a strong British Library side. However, despite an early hand injury to Jonty Tarbuck, the other bowlers - Jeff Hilson, Nick Creak, Tom Cox, Gwyn Thomas, David Coles and Luke Butler all bowled well to dismiss the library for 119 on a damp wicket. However, the catching was abominable with at least eight chances not being taken.
Stand-in openers Mark Bradshaw and Tom Cox batted steadily against early bowling (Tom playing particularly carefully for 22 overs for his first six runs) before Bradshaw began to cut loose. Bradshaw was dismissed slogging on 38 and Robin Airey entered to make a quickfire 15 before three quick wickets fell to peg back the Exiles. However, Jeff Hilson (20 not out) and Tom Cox (42 not out) quickly ended Library hopes to finish the game and goive the Exiles a six wicket win.
Man of the match was Tom Cox for a very steady bowling performance and a sensible unbeaten 42.
