Exiles clinched a very fortunate one run victory over WICC. Exiles batted first, but never built on a very solid platform - with very little acceleration in the innings - and finished on 165 for 4 from their alloted 35 overs - a good 20 or 30 runs short of the sort of target that should have been achievable.
In reply, WICC got off to a flying start against a wayward Andy (returning that morning from a stag do) and Martin to get them well ahead of the required run-rate, before the pacy Harry Lort-Phillips - after initially also recieving some tap himself - took 3 wickets to bring the Exiles back into the game. In truth though, WICC should still have cruised it, but their middle and lower order batted irresponsibly to give the Exiles further wickets - with Bhupen "catching practice" Seth - bowling an excellent spell of tight off spin to strangle the WICC innings.
WICC closed a run short to gift the Exiles a victory that never looked likely.
