Nothing unusual in a cloudy day and a dubious looking pitch but 8 Nomads at the ground at twenty  to two had me checking my watch for mechanical failure.

Surprisingly, Nomads elected to bat on a very worn track. Exiles fielded Jez,  Will and James from Andy's Saturday team. Jez having experience of the Dundonald pitch from last year.

Despite the Exiles bowling tightly, Andy and Jez bowling very straight, and with variable bounce, Nomads made a decent start. Mark was dismissed fairly early on but the second wicket partnership got up to around 70. Exiles were looking worried on a pitch where every run looked valuable.

Simon came on first change and was soon generating plenty of pace. The umpire made a vital mistake in turning down an lbw that looked very close. This made him grumpy. He soon clean bowled the reprieved batsman, taking another two wickets with one smashing middle stump out of the ground.

Will chipped in with a couple of wickets from the other end including the important wicket of Hassan (ggod catch by Jasper) with the ball before the drinks break

David Stiffel came on to replace Simon  with his first bowl for a long time and soon was on a hat trick after having one batsman caught in the deep followed by a ball that dropped on top if a bail.

Jez returned to polish off the innings with his second wicket leaving the Exiles to chase 126 to win.

Quentin and Keith opened and batted cautiously on an unreliable pitch. Keith impressed the specatator with his stylish batting but later was to describe Quentin as the most inept batsman he had ever seen. The accurate Hassan and cagey  Emil were seen off but the scoreboard was moving slowly. Quentin decided to hit out and was dismissed immediately. Jasper and Keith soon followed, leaving the Exiles nervous. Sri steadied things witth James before James was run out. Sri went for 15 leaving Exiles with plenty of runs to get.

Wil got things going with  ahigh scoring over before Simon started hitting sixes.  Wil departed leaving Will B to come in for his debut Exiles innings. Simon offered some batting tips between sixes unsure of Will's batting skills. Fortunately, Will could either already bat or was able to imitate Simon immediatley and knocked up 3 sixes in a whirlwind 20 to add to Simon's 37 not out. In the end,

Exiles won comfortably with 6 plus overs to spare although the game had been tight all through the match. Will and Simon made things look easy on a pitch which still offered a lot of movement off the seam.
