Exiles rounded off the 2009 season with a comprehensive victory against the British Library.
On being put into bat, Exiles quickly lost Q, but Dan Gauntlett and John Tither batted briskly until Dan tried one hit too many and was stumped. Amil (46) then joined John and an excellent stand of 108 ensued, taking the Exiles to 178 for 2 with about four of their allotted 35 overs left, before Amil was bowled. John - in sight of a century - was finally caught for 91 - tired out by trying to keep up with Amil's running between the wicket as much as anything else. Exiles then also lost the wickets of Rob and Andy in quick succession as the late slog wasn't as fruitful as it sometimes is. In fact, Exiles lost 6 wickets for only 16 runs in the last four overs, to finish on 194 for 7.
The 195 target always seemed plenty and BL didn't really get started in their response as firstly Martin, Simon and Gwyn - and then latterly Phil - who nearly stole the season's bowling trophy - with a late flurry of wickets in his spell of 4 for 1 - secured the win for the Exiles as the Library were skittled for 60.
An exhausted John Tither was man of the match for his 91 runs.
