The Exiles entertained Open University at Overton Park, Sutton. The outfield was in slightly better condition than previously, but not appreciably so. This was a shame as the wicket was excellent; fast and hard with something in it for bowlers and batsmen alike.

Tom Cox bowled a superb five over opening spell of four wickets for five runs, bowling all his victims, mainly with a well-directed yorker. Gwyn Thomas contributed an accurate seven over stint to claim one wicket for six, as Open University were reduced to 15 for 5. The spinners, Bunton and Yandel, bowled without any luck as the sixth wicket pair rescued the innings. It was left to Amil Patel and Tom Cox to polish off the innings for 75, Cox finishing with career best figures of 7 for 8.

As against Haud Magnum, the Exiles made a meal of chasing a low total. Drew Patel made a brisk start before he was bowled by a well-directed off-cutter for 11. Mark Bradshaw (20) and Naren Patel (8) then batted solidly to see off the opening bowlers before were lbw in quick succession to OU's round-arm bowler. Kristian Armstrong and John Priestland quickly followed as the Exiles were in trouble at 49 for 5. Steve Yandel and Amil Patel defended well to add a vital 12 runs before Steve Yandel was bowled off his pads. Chris Bunton also defended stoically until he could no longer contain himself and was bowled playing a characteristic rash slog (even Chris himself admitted that the ball was not there to be hit!). The Exiles then suffered a vital blow as Amil Patel was bowled by an unplayable shooter for 15. However, Tom Cox and Gwyn Thomas saw the Exiles home with a mixture of good sense and luck.

Man of the match for the Exiles was Tom Cox for an inspired bowling performance.
