The Exiles met British Library at Chiswick in their first game of September. Hilson, Cook, Thomas, and Cox (3 for 21) all bowled tidily, but without a lot of luck, as the Library batted solidly to reach 156 for 7.

Keith Roberts (37) and Mark Bradshaw (39) started brightly with Bradshaw playing some very aggressive shots against Radia. The dismissal of Bradshaw slowed the innings, but gave little indication of what was to follow, as a series of poor shots from Amil Patel, Hilson, Airey, Murphy, and (the piece de resistance) Cox helped the Exiles to collapse from 100 for 2 to 105 for 7 – sensible cricket it was not! Thankfully, the wiser heads of Wil Scott and Andrew Sammut were on hand to secure a draw.
