Exiles picked up their 6th win in a row, courtesy of a 20 run victory against Unabombers at Joseph Hood Rec.

Inserted first, Exiles made 172 all out, thanks to a rapid 38 from Nadeem and contributions from most of the middle order, including 27 from Safi.

It was the same 2 who starred with the ball with Safi taking 4 for 15 and Nadeem 3 for 20 as Unabombers were restricted to 152 for 9 off their 35.

Exiles made it 5 wins in a row with a tight 2 wicket victory at Kenley on Sunday.

Kenley won the toss and chose to bat but found runs hard to come by as the Exiles consistent bowling attack was once again in evidence. There were 2 wickets for Zia and KK but it was last weeks centurion Nadeem who found form with the ball this week with 4 for 23.

Chasing just 117 to win, Exiles made hard work of it. Exiles lost 7 wickets out of 8 bowled, with only Hasan (39) showing any resistance from the top order, and at 94 for 8 Kenley might have been favourites, but with Nadeem hidden down the order, Exiles had strength in depth and along with a capable 16 not out from Safi, they took the Exiles home with a partnership of 25, Nadeem clinching the win with a six!

Unabombers next Sunday.

A brilliant 101 not out from 78 balls from Nadeem led the Exiles to a 46 run win against Karnataka at the Joseph Hood Rec on Sunday.

After the loss of 2 early wickets, a partnership of 56 between Hasan and Nadeem took the Exiles to 68 for 2, before 4 quick wickets saw Exiles teetering on 108 for 6.

From there Nadeem took over in typically belligerent fashion, supported by KK and Haris – on debut. Exiles closed on 203 for 8 off their 35 overs, Nadeem retiring on 101 not out.

Exiles continued their recent consistent bowling performances with another afternoon where wickets were shared – with 2 each for Zia, Safi, Shahid and Hasan. Karnataka were bowled out off the penultimate ball for 157. John took 4 catches behind the stumps in addition to a run out contribution.

A trip to Kenley sports club next Sunday.

Exiles were indebted to a fine 68 from the returning Rafi to enable a 33 run win in a competitive game against Ploughman’s at Joseph Hood Rec.

Exiles batted first and were led by Rafi’s typically hard hit innings, supported after early wickets were lost by Zia, Shahid and KK – who finished on 36 not out. 171 for 9 from 35 overs was something to bowl at.

Exiles bowling has been very consistent of late and this was true again as 8 bowlers were used and 7 picked up wickets – with Zia taking 2 for 17 from his 7 potentially the pick. Ploughman’s were restricted to 138 for 9.
