Merton started very poorly losing three quick wickets for seven runs. They recovered slightly, with the next wicket falling at 48. Satish and Naren Patel having both taken two each at this stage.

Puttaganti - one of Merton's openers - was still there however and was scoring quickly; anything short was dispatched onto the tram line or into the bushes alongside. Spare balls had to be used. It was turning into a one man show, although Puttaganti was dropped once just after his fifty. He added 82 with Allen - whose share was nine - and then put on 33 with S Egan who also made nine.

Puttaganti - who had also made a century the previous day was finally out, caught off Shahid for a brilliant 121. With his dismissal at 163/6, the innings was soon wrapped up by Naren who finished with 4 for 20 and Shahid who took 3 for 24. The last 5 wickets fell for only one run.

It was a bizarre looking scorecard - one man scoring 121 out of a total of 164, the next highest score being nine! Is this some kind of record?

In reply Exiles lost 2 early wickets to some good pace bowling from S Egan, but Jonny Aloysius held firm. He should have been run out before he had scored, but dug in and added 38 with Shahid who was out for 29.

Zeeshan made 12 and the game at this point 75/4 was in the balance, but probably still in Exiles favour. Aloysius was now joined by Wingfield and with good sensible batting these two had taken the score to 136 - a stand of 61 - when Aloysius was bowled for 52. It was his first fifty for the Exiles.

Wingfield and Ahmed saw their side home with 9 balls to spare, Wingfield reaching his fifty with the winning boundary. Exiles man of the match went to Naren for his 4 for 20, though Aloysius ran him close.
