The Exiles showed up for their meeting against WICC buoyed by a slim victory in their last outing, however were no match for WICC.

Winning the toss and choosing to bat first on the back of some very respectable batting performances in weeks gone by seemed like a good call. However too many batsman got in, and then got themselves out. There were some impressive straight drives early on from new boy Drew Scott, who showed real promise, for any future matches he might play in but the Exiles found themselves 4 down for not many, in the early goings.

Big hitting is what we have come to expect from Bernard Leuvennink and he did not disappoint. Playing his team out of a hole and building a partnership with the steady Andrew Wingfield. Our go-to-man, Andy, has been on the sidelines for the past few weeks through illness, so it was great to see him back out on the field... even if wasn't quite at 100%.

Unfortunately, with Bernard misjudging a straight one with the spin, thus ending his entertaining and vital innings for the team, another collapse of sorts ensued. Andy and another debutant Geoff Candy put on some healthy runs but there was a feeling at tea, that the Exiles were around 50-60 short.

As it turned out the Exiles might've been more like 100 short. The impressive batting from WICC was extremely difficult to bowl too, and inevitably they ran out comfortable winners. Terrence Moynihan had the batsman jumping and probably deserved more than his one wicket, but an impressive 50 not out from the No. 3 of WICC saw his team over the line.

Looking forward to getting back out there this Sunday, where the Exiles will look to bounce back and improve in all 3 aspects of the game.
