Stumbles cost Exiles in good match-up.

Exiles decided to field and with six debutants doing a great job in the first quarter confining a strong CYPOS side to 61-4 at the 20 over mark. Simon Gundry and Andrew Wingfield opened the bowling and kept the pressure on resulting in a first wicket run-out coming from a combined effort between father and son Max & Chris Kemsley. Exiles continued to do well in the field consistently breaking up partnerships on a lively pitch with Chris Kemsley taking 4-36, narrowly missing a 5 wicket haul with a difficult caught and bowl attempt. A costly over or two in the middle gave CYPOS a few free extra runs, before Gundry and Wingfield tied up the innings leaving the Exiles to chase a tough but achievable 158 target.

Exiles went out to bat losing two early wickets through some good bowling from the two opening CYPOS bowlers. Bernard Leuvennink (18) and Martin Parsley got a decent partnership going but an ever slowing run-rate caused pressure to build. Difficulty rotating the strike continued to plagued the Exiles with Simon Gundry picking up the pace with his unbeaten 51 from only 48 balls. Parsley (15) retired-out with only 4 overs remaining, which left the bottom four with a daunting task of scoring at around 11 per over. This was unfortunately too little too late and through forced swinging Exiles found themselves all out for 119.

In all a very enjoyable match, with a some unfortunate mistakes denying Exiles the win on the day.
