A short report for a short game . Exiles 77 all out were beaten soundly by Agricola who reached the target with a loss just two wickets.

The game against the arch rivals turned into a one sided affair once the Exiles lost the toss. After much deliberation and consultation Agricola decided to field on a wicket which was gave assistance to bowlers. This was a wicket where anyone who could bowl straight could take a wicket. The tone for the game was set with the fifth ball of the over. Keith playing a defence shot to a ball which held up a bit managed to lob a simple catch and Exiles lost their first wicket without a run on the board. Amil joined Q and both rode their luck whilst trying to keep the score ticking.

When on 4 Amil got good one from Dan which came back hit the elbow and dropped on to the stumps. At the other end Q tried to hit Exiles out of trouble but was undone by a ball which kept low and was bowled for 14. The rest joined the procession as wickets tumbled and a big partnership was needed to dig us out of the hole. It looked promising when Simon and Andy came together playing some sensible cricket with measured aggression. However, it didn't last long as in a sudden rush of blood Andy went for a big hit to clear the ropes but only managed to sky a catch. Meanwhile Simon continued to play sensibly but was running out of partners and eventually Exiles were all out for 77 well before the tea.

Agricola with their strong batting line up were required to face about half a dozen overs before tea. Simon opened the bowling to get an early breakthrough on a wicket which had dried up and was not giving any assistance to the bowlers. Simon bowled with pace and hostility but could not get the breakthrough. Much also depended on the Exiles's Champion bowler but instead of taking wickets he served up half volleys at regular intervals to help Agricola achieve the target as quickly as possible. Man of the match Simon for his 14 not out and 2 wickets.
