Fantasy League 2009

'Energy Exiles Fantasy Cricket' (tm) returns for the 2009 season.

New players have been added, some players' info has been updated, but the rules remain unchanged from last year. Players that only played once for us last year have not been added - though if you think any of these, or any other players, will play reasonably regularly and you are keen for them to be added to the list please let me know asap. Otherwise, the procedure is:

Return the attached to Andy (andrew.wingfield7@gmail.com) before the first game of the season (27th April). Pay £5 to Sam Scott. 50% of the pot goes to the winner (to spend on cricket) and 50% to the club.

The list of all players in the game (including prices and some calculations aimed at confusing you) has been distributed. The spreadsheet has a page for you to make your selection together with a man-of-the-match summary page from last season, the batting and bowling averages of last season and finally the career averages of all players involved & possibly likely to play this season.

Rules of the game are very simple:

  • Open to members of Energy Exiles only
  • Pick a team of 11 players - 3 'bats', 3 'alls', 1 'wkt', 3 'bowlers' and 1 'other' - where 'other' can be any player, regardless of category. The colour-coding might help.
  • Maximum spend is £50million;
  • You must pick yourself;
  • No mid-season transfers (to be confirmed)
  • Entries BEFORE the first game on 27th April 2009

Points description is available on this link.

As with last season, it costs £5 to enter - half goes to the club, to help improve the contents of the kitbag, as deemed necessary, and the other half will go to the winner in some form that the money must be respent on cricket. Please liaise directly with Sam, the club treasurer, regards your payment. Obviously the more people who enter, the better. Its totally up to you to scout around for likely player availability, form, etc.

Any questions, please let me know.
Andy
