Exiles beaten in Ewell..

Exiles were beaten by 6 wickets in tough encounter in Ewell on Sunday.

Exiles batted first and were indebted to 40 from Suraj to hold the top half of the innings together and a late flourish of 43 from debutant Nasrullah bolstered the score up to 174 all out.

Despite a double breakthrough from Nadeem in the opening over it wasn’t enough as the Ewell powerful middle order took their side home comfortably, with the number 5 finishing 105 not out. Naren did pick up his 398th Exiles wicket on the way however.

On to Streatham & Marlborough in Dulwich next Sunday.

Win number 7…

Exiles picked up their 7th win of 2025 courtesy of an excellent 4 wicket victory over Whalers at Barn Elms.

Unusually Exiles were bowling first and a steady flow of wickets – with 3 for Nadeem, 2 for Ishaq and Siyar saw Whalers reduced to 45 for 5 before a fine 77 from number 7 Rohan led the Whalers fightback to 183 all out. Whalers also gave Exiles 5 LBWs which must be a club record.

Exiles didn’t waste any time in reply with 29 from Asad and 46 from skipper Shahid, but it was a fine 58 not out from Nadeem at number 7 that took the Exiles home with nearly 9 overs to spare.

Ewell away next week.

Storm blows Exiles match away..

Exiles match against Streatham & Marlborough on Sunday at Dundonald Rec was bubbling along nicely only to be ruined by two heavy thunderstorms which ultimately ended proceedings.

Exiles batted first and had faced 2 overs when the first storm arrived and once play resumed about an hour later, another 10 overs were possible before a second storm rendered the pitch too wet to continue with the game, so an early trip to the pub was agreed.

Exiles had reached 68 for 3 when play was abandoned, with Darwin looking in good touch for 24no.

Back to Chiswick next week to face the Whalers.
