Damp squib…

Exiles final match of the season turned out to be a damp squid as rain brought a premature end to the game with Wibbandune batting first and had reached 115 for 2 off 17 overs – with early wickets for KK and Ishaq – before the ball and conditions in general became too wet.

A frustrating end to a successful season for the club.

Exiles win again..

Exiles picked up their 10th win of the season – beating Old Whitgiftians by 84 runs at Haydons Road.

Exiles batted first in sweltering conditions and Shahid soon smashed a belligerent 61. The rest of Exiles innings teetered but contributions of 25 from Siyar and 35 from KK ensured before the Exiles were all out for 222 – in six overs short of the allocated 40.

Excellent opening spells from KK and Siyar (3 for 8) ensured Exiles always maintained the ascendancy with Ling (3 for 28) continuing the good work as the away side were restricted to 138 for 8 from their full 40 overs.

Exiles finish the season at King Georges playing fields next week.

Exiles in ninth win..

Exiles beat Southern Railway & Kenley in a surprisingly low scoring encounter on Sunday.

Batting first Exiles again lost early wickets but Siyar (36) and Ishaq (29) responded in boundaries as the Exiles reached 155.

Tight Exiles bowling ensured the home side didn’t get close with Sami and debutant Rafi each picking up three wickets.

Back to Haydon’s Road next week.
