Rain forces Plastics abandonment…

Exiles first match in a month was cut short when persistent drizzle caused their match with new oppo Plastics CC to be abandoned after 11 overs.

On seeing a wet track the captains agreed to give it a go but slippery conditions for the bowlers only became worse as the game went on when the rain wouldn’t stop.

Plastics had started well and had reached 58 without loss with the Exiles bowlers understandably struggling to find their best lines and lengths before the game was brought to an end.

Exiles have a trip to Beddington Park to play Beddington next Sunday.

Exiles win Stroke Makers classic..

Exiles picked up a dramatic 1 wicket win against Stroke Makers at Cottenham Park on Sunday.

Fielding first on a sweltering day Exiles regularly took wickets but there were enough hits in between from the oppo to allow them to reach 208 all out – with 3 wickets for Jibran Ahmed and Simon Gundry.

Exiles reply looked well placed at 133 for 3 thanks to 64 runs each from Sabir Khurshid on debut and skipper for the day Bernard Leuvennink. But after a flurry of wickets it was left to Ahmed (24no) to strike the Exiles home for the second time this season.
