Exiles beat drizzle but not Dragons..

Exiles managed to complete their T20 game against the Kai Dragons on Tuesday night – despite extremely gloomy conditions – but were defeated by 6 wickets.

Exiles batted first and scored 125/8 from their 20 with good contributions from all – particularly Lamprecht (21) and debutant Modi (25no).

In reply and with the drizzle at its heaviest, the Exiles bowlers struggled – with the ball becoming a bar of soap; a few wickets were taken, but the Dragons put away the bad balls when they came to win a good game with 7 balls to spare.

Next up is the Nomads…

Exiles come up short again..

Exiles were well beaten by Old Rutlishians at Dundonald Road Rec on Sunday. An Old Ruts opener hit 16 boundaries in a rapid 81 as they amassed 215/6 from 35 overs – despite an impressive 5/38 from Callum Holden – a 15 year old leg-spinner provided to us by the over-subscribed opposition.

In reply the Exiles were once again found wanting – several batsmen got starts, but no-one could provide the substantial innings that was required to set the game up. Exiles were eventually all out for 129 – to lose by 86.

At least there’s a game this Tuesday to make amends – against Kai Dragons in a T20 at Chiswick. Next Sunday sees us playing Clapham Nomads at Joseph Hood Rec in Merton, when hopefully availability might be better!
