Back to winning ways

Exiles beat Old Ruts by 9 wickets on Sunday, thanks to a match-turning quadruple wicket maiden from Simon Gundry (5 for 24), as Old Ruts collapsed from 120 for 2 to 143 all out.

In reply, the skipper John Tither (98 not out) hit 17 boundaries to see the Exiles home. Wil Scott also achieved a career landmark of 3,000 runs for the club in the match.

Exiles defeated

Exiles suffered their first defeat of the 2012 season in the local derby against Agricola.

It was tough in the field as Agricola amassed 212/4 from 40 overs, and in response Exiles were soon in trouble at 13/3. Some decent middle order batting from debutant Adam Wedlock (35), skipper John Tither (43), Andy Wingfield (26) and Marcin Zieleniewski (24no) at least took the Exiles to a respectable 167 all out, and a 45 run defeat.

Exiles off to a winning start

The Exiles got the 2012 season off to a winning start with a 7 wicket win over Cypos.

An excellent all-round bowling and fielding performance restricted the opposition to 140 all out off the last ball of the 40th over – wickets were shared round – with Chris Plume (3 for 32) the pick.

Exiles response was masterminded – as ever – by Keith Roberts with 58 not out, as we won with 5 balls of the last over remaining.
