Exiles find Will to finish with a win..

Exiles won their final game of 2016 – and the last game of Will Kent’s Exiles career before returning to Australia – with a hard fought 29 run win against Surbiton Imperials.

Parkinson (30) and make-shift opener Wingfield (52) started solidly for the Exiles and with Leuvennink (23) also contributing, Exiles were well set at 101 for 1 before wickets fell with regularity and only a late flourish from Gundry (19no off 17) saw the Exiles to 170 for 7 off their 35.

Surbiton started their reply well and had reached over 50 without loss before Moynihan broke through. From there, Exiles took wickets steadily with Gundry (2 for 14) and Ling (3 for 28) bowling well and Wingfield (2 for 31) struck twice in his 6th over to finish the season on 299 career Exiles wickets.

Ultimately a really good win for 10 man Exiles in a game that looked like it would go right to the death.

8 wins, 2 ties and 9 losses to finish the 2016 season.
