Terence eats Ploughmans for lunch…

A superb spell of 5 for 12 (all bowled) from Terence Moynihan led Exiles to a comfortable 90 run victory over Ploughmans CC on Sunday.

After being inserted, an Exiles team full of bowlers amassed 213 for 7 off their 40 overs, with 3 contributions at the top of the order – from Chris Plume (50), Bernard Leuvennink (46) and Will Kent (40) and a fine late acceleration from Phil “not a batsman” Chamberlain with 27 not out from 15 balls.

Ploughmans got off to a fast start in reply, but were soon stopped in their tracks as Phil Ling (2 for 29) and Marcin Zieleniewski (1 for 25) started getting the old ball wobbling on the dusty track.

And it was left to Simon Rowland (2 for 14) and Moynihan with his 5-fer to run through the rest of the Ploughmans batting line up, as they slipped from 95 for 3 to 123 all out, with all remaining wickets bowled – in fact 9 of the 10 wickets were bowled, much to Naren Patels delight.

Next week’s fixture is up in the air, but Exiles are hoping to get a solution sorted to continue to build on recent momentum.
