Exiles lost by 20 runs to Whalers on Sunday.
Whalers elected to bat and scored 180 for 7 off their 35 overs, their number 4 scoring a superb 63 not out as the Exiles bowling became a touch ragged.
The Exiles reply seemed to be going nowhere at 78 for 5, despite a typically solid 35 from Will Kent at the top of the order, until a partnership of 57 between Dominic Hodgson (45) and Andy Wingfield (24) nearly got the Exiles back in the game, before the run-rate finally became too much and the key wickets were lost.
A slightly disappointing defeat for the Exiles, especially with 2 players – Jasper Searle and Ammar Akthar – being leant to the opposition for the day. And the less said about Phil Ling’s last ball leave the better.
WICC are up next week at Nursery Road.
