Exiles got back to winning ways with a tight 3 wicket victory against Surbiton Imperials on Sunday.
Fielding first, the Exiles bowling and fielding improved the longer the Surbiton innings went on, eventually restricting them to 165 for 9 off 40, thanks to good bowling from Phil Ling (3 for 24), Andy Wingfield (2 for 12), Marcin Zieleniewski (2 for 27) and Simon Gundry (2 for 39).
Mark Bradshaw (44) continued his impressive form on returning to the club and anchored the Exiles reply, with support coming from Jasper Searle (21), John Tither (27) and Wingfield (22), but it was – perhaps inevitably – Zieleniewski (9no) who finished the game with a boundary off the first ball of the final over, as Exiles crept home 7 down.
Next up is a first ever fixture against the Stroke Makers at Raynes Park.
